Is Somebody Cooking In Here?

Before you get laser surgery on your eye, they tell you a lot of things. They tell you about the drops you're going to need to use, and how long it will take to recover and what, exactly the laser is doing in there. What they don't tell you about is the smell.

(Also: Apparently, I was the first person to ever ask the nurse how often people's eyes explode during the procedure. Seemed like an obvious question to me.)

One eye done, one to go. No explosions yet.

Did they give you a video of the procedure? John got his done several years ago, and that video has been hours of entertainment for the whole family and unsuspecting guests.

I got a video, but it was just of the doctor sitting in front of a blue screen talking about all the things that could possibly go wrong. I think if they had shown me the actual procedure you wouldn't be able to get me into the operating room with a crobar and a barrel of grease.
